PAROLE - JUVENILE OFFENDERS
When a juvenile is committed to a Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice, he/she is assigned to a parole officer. The parole officer works with the correctional center staff to develop a service plan for the youth while at the center. The youth's length of stay is determined by past criminal history and the nature of the offense committed. The parole officer works with the parents and/or guardians to ensure that a plan of services and supervision is in place when the youth is ready to return to the community. The parole officer supervises the youth to assist in his/her successful reintegration into the community once the sentence is completed. Cases Residing In Fairfax County Are Supervised By The County's JDRC Staff. Cases Living Elsewhere Are Transferred To The Appropriate Jurisdiction.
